Halloween 2008

Ahh, Halloween! One of my favorite holidays. It's becoming even funner (I know that's not a real word) as this is the first year that Madigan picked out her costume and actually understood what Halloween was about. She wavered between being a butterfly or a flower. In the end, she decided to be this pretty pink and purple butterfly. Reagan didn't get a choice. I actually had a pj/onesie outfit that I tried on her the week of Halloween and it was too small. So the little onesie she wore was a last minute, the only thing they had left outfit. Thank you Bamma for finding it at Babies-r-us. Madigan was excited all day long about going to trick-or-treat. I asked her that morning if she knew what trick-or-treating was and she, of course, said no. I explained what is involved in trick-or-treating and was even more excited about it. She practiced all day long saying, "Trick-or-treat!" We finally got all dressed up about 6pm. Daddy, Mommy, Madigan, and Reagan headed out the door to go wander around the neighborhood. We didn't even get out of our yard before Chris said, "I don't want to go begging for candy from people." I tried to explain to him that we aren't begging for candy, but instead Bamma came along with us. Madigan really got into the whole production with one little arm outstretched when she yelled "Trick-or-treat!". She insisted on taking the candy from the people and putting it in her jack-o-lantern herself and she would always say, "Thank you! Happy Halloween!" I was so proud of her. We visited houses for about an hour and then went home to check out her goods. We really didn't go to that many houses, but she got loaded up!
I let her eat as many treats as she wanted that evening. I believe she had about 6 before she decided it was time to get ready for bed and she was asleep in less than 5 minutes. It was a good Halloween!
And by the way, all the pictures are a little foggy because someone (I won't mention any names...Reagan!) put their little grubby fingers on the lens. I have since cleaned it.
